Native American Pottery
The third graders studied Native American Pottery for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately we don't have access to a kiln, so we did the next best thing. We drew the pots , and then the students learned how to highlight and shadow in order to I've it more dimension.

5th Grade Halloween Silhouettes and Kindergarten Scaredy Cats
Halloween has reared it's spooky head! The 5th graders made these spooky silhouettes. This is really a high success, quick project. Take a look at these Scaredy Cats. I can hardly stand how darn cute they are! I did this in small groups, three kids at a time. That worked really well. The thought of 35 5 year olds with black paint seemed to SCARY!!

Day of the Dead Katrina Dolls
These came out so much better than I could have imagined! I had the fortunate opportunity ( some may say unfortunate ) to have a two hour class with my 5th graders. We watched some quick videos about Day of the Dead, talked about the significance of the holiday, and Katrina, and why she is so fancy....how even if you are fancy, and have a lot of money- you can't escape death.
